Noorani Qaida Lessons
As we stated above, the “Noorani Qaida” book consists of 17 lessons. Each lesson gets you closer to Quran reading.
Hereunder is a summary of what you’ll learn in each lesson…
Lesson 1: Huroof e Mufridaat (Individual letters)
The first chapter of Noorani Qaida consists of 29 letters (Arabic Alphabet) from which 7 letters are pronounced with a full mouth (deeply) and only four letters are pronounced from lips. All of them are single letters and known as “Huroof”.
Lesson 2: Murakkabat (joint letters)
After learning single letters, in this phase, you learn to join letters or compound letters which are called “Murakkabat”. When two or more letters are joined together they form a “Murakkab”. After completing this lesson, you are able to know the different shapes of the respective letters.
Lesson 3: Huroof e Muqataat
In this chapter, there are 14 abbreviated words which are known as “Muqatta’at”. These are disjointing and disconnected letters. There are 29 Surahs out of 114 in Quran Kareem that starts with the words “Muqatta’at” just after Bismillah.
Lesson 4: Harakat (Movements)
This chapter consists of “Letters Movements” which are known as “Harkaat”. There are three kinds of movements i.e “Fatha”, “Kasra”, and “Dammah”. These are short vowels in the Arabic Language.
Lesson 5: Tanween
In this chapter, You learn double Fatha, Double Kasra, and Double Dummah which is known as “Nunation” or “Tanween”. They learn the proper sounds and pronunciations of these symbols and signs.
Lesson 6: Combination between Tanween & Harakat
In this chapter, you learn how to connect different letters in accordance with Tajweed. It provides an opportunity for the student to make exercise of Movements and Nunation (Harkaat and Tanween).
Lesson 7: Standing Fatha, Kasrah and Dummah
In this chapter, you learn “standing Fathah”, “standing kasrah”, and “standing Dammah” (used with letters to pronounce prolong). They’ll learn not to take the maddah letters which come after “Noon” or “Meem” into the nose.
Lesson 8: Madd and Leen
In this chapter, the student learn about “Huroof Madd’ah and Leen”. These are soft letters and long vowel sigs so these need to prolong equally to one “Alif” or one or two seconds.
Lesson 9: Exercises on Previous Classes
In this chapter, you exercise on past classes: Movements, Fatha, Karsa, Dummah, Madd’ah o keen, and Tanween letters. This lesson gives a strong grip to the student to understand the difficult words to pronounce. Additionally, you learn many important tajweed rules.
Lesson 10: Sakoon and Jazam
In this chapter, you learn about “Sakoon” and “Jazm”, In addition to “Huroof e Qalqalah”.
Lesson 11: Exercises on Sakoon & Jazam
This chapter is a revision on previous chapter where you exercise the “Sakoon” and “Jazm”. When Ikhfaa is done on noon saakinah and Tanween? When the Raa letter is bold? The types of stops and when the stop is necessary and when not.
Lesson 12: Tashdeed
In this chapter, Noorani Qaida student learns “Tashdeed” sign (duplication sign). They learn the “Tashdeed sign” to pronounce the letter two times by connecting the previous letter and read the word with “Tashdeed” in a strong voice.
Lesson 13: Exercises on Tashdeed
This chapter is a revision and training on the previous one (Tashdeed). you practice “Tashdeed” with some difficult and complicated words.
Lesson 14: Exercises on Tashdeed with Sakoon
This chapter is a practice on what previously learned from Tashdeed, Sakoon, and Jazm. Additionally, students learn “Tashdeed with Sakoon”.
Lesson 15: Tashdeed with Tashdeed
This chapter introduces new kind of “Tashdeed” which is “Tashdeed with Tashdeed” (2 duplication signs). They have to solve exercises on the lesson of this chapter.
Lesson 16: Tashdeed with Huroof Maddah
In this chapter, you learn “Tashdeed with Huroof Madd’ah” which is also known as an exercise of “Tashdeed” or duplication after long vowel. This exercise surely makes the student perfect to go ahead of his or her journey.
Lesson 17: Rules for Noon Sakinah and Tanween
The last chapter of Noorani Qaida is full of exercises that ensure perfect pronunciation of the holy Quran. Additionally, students learn special situations for “noon Saakinah”, “meem Saakinah“, and “Tanween”.
