What is meant by Aqeedah?

“Aqidah” (in Arabic: عقيدة) is an Islamic term meaning “creed”. It refers to those matters which Muslims believe in, with certainty and conviction, in one’s heart and soul. They are not tainted with any doubt or uncertainty.

The main 6 principles of Aqidah are:

  1. Belief in God and tawhid (monotheism)

What is meant by Fiqh?

“Fiqh” (in Arabic: فقه) or “Islamic Jurisprudence” is an Islamic terminology that refers to the understanding of Islamic law and rules as revealed in the Quran and the Sunnah.

Fiqh can also be defined as a process by means of which jurists derive sets of guidelines, rules, and regulations (the Shari’ah) from the principles of the Qur’an and the Sunnah. Over the centuries, these have been formulated and elaborated upon by successive generations of learned jurists, through interpretation, analogy, consensus, and disciplined research.

Study of the Fiqh is often divided into 2 main disciplines:

  1. Uṣūl al-fiqh (in Arabic: أصول الفقه)
  2. Furūʿ al-fiqh (فروع الفقه)
What is Tafsir Quran?

Tafsir/Tafseer of Quran is the Arabic word for the exegesis of the Quran verses. A Quranic tafsir attempts to provide elucidation, explanation, interpretation, context or commentary for clear understanding and conviction of Allah (SWT).

Tafseer Quran help Muslims understand the Holy Quran even better; without learning Quran Tafseer, mankind will have no correct understanding of different passages of the Quran.

What is Dua?

Dua’a/Dua in Islam refers to supplication to Allah (SWT).

Dua is a conversation with Allah Almighty. This act in itself is of extraordinary significance. It is the most uplifting, liberating, empowering, and transforming conversation a person can ever have. We turn to Allah (SWT) with Dua because we know that Allah Almighty alone can lift our sufferings and solve our problems.

What is Seerah of Prophet?

In Islam, Al-sīra al-Nabawiyya (Prophetic biography), Sīrat Rasūl Allāh or Seerah are the traditional Muslim biographies of the prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Studying the Seerah of the prophet Muhammad (PBUH) involves so many benefits, such as:

  • Incidents and situations from the Prophet’s life are real life lessons to help us. Seerah is more than studying biography of a person, it is biography of our most beloved’s life and the history of our religion.
  • Learning about the prophet’s life develops a true love of Rasul Allah (PBUH) in our hearts
  • The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was the perfect example of the best Muslim character. We must first study his life to follow his beautiful example.
  • Some Quranic verses deal with events that happened during the lifetime of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)], revealed either before, during, or after a particular occasion. The Seerah gives an explanation, so understanding and knowing about Seerah will help us to understand these verses.
